Greetings Dear Red & Pink Hatted Sisters
"The Third
Long Island Red Hat Convention" is now just seven short
month's away. Your convention committee is hard at work
making sure that this event will surpass the incredible
events we have presented in the past. We are over 2/3's of
the way to reaching our close off of 500. Even though our
economy is in a temporary slump our Red Hat sister's are not
letting anything stand in their way of celebrating our
sisterhood! "Life is too short",
Also, we will
not be having a PJ contest. There will be a hat contest
held on Friday evening 10/2/09. The categories are "Most
Elegant" & "Most Outrageous".
The "Mask"
We will be
offering workshops. The workshops
will be announced along with the sign-up the first week in
May. These will be filled on a "first come, first serve"
basis. We have all kinds of fun and interesting workshops
planned for you! We have lots of things planned for you to
do or you can just shop
As previously
mentioned, this year we are highlighting Long Island
Vineyards.

The cost of rooms at the Hilton Hotel are $155
per night "not" $159. You can put up to 4 people in a
room. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL a room on your own, if you do we
will loose it. Please call either Karen Wajda or myself and
we will cancel it for you.

York State! Our reputation reaches far & wide. We are so

Event! You WILL be so glad that you did!
The stereotype of barefoot women stomping on grapes no
longer holds true - at least not on the North Fork of Long
Island. Not only has crushing gone high-tech, but now many
"women" are actually running the winery operations. This
phenomenon - a high percentage of "women" in senior
positions in the wine industry goes against historic
industry trends. It's wonderful to see so many "women"
owning vineyards, supervising wine production and managing
retail operations. So while you are here on L.I. why not
plan on extending your trip to include a ride out (45 min.
from the Hilton) to the North Fork to visit the Vineyards of
Long Island.
